OTACI MOVED TO BANDIRMA AND INCREASED ITS CAPASITY

Kurtsan Group increased its capacity, by expanding its facilities in Bandirma. Thus the Group is now equipped so as to quickly meet the increased demand both in the domestic market and export. After movement of the production facilities to Bandýrma, production capacity of natural cosmetics, herbal pastille and natural food without additive increased from 7 million boxes to 12 million boxes.

With its roots planted by Niyazi Kurtsan, pharmacist, at the laboratory of a pharmacy in 1955, Kurtsan Holding made additional investment amounting to 2.5 million YTL to move its pharmaceutical plants for production of Otaci Herbal Pastilles are manufactured and cosmetic facilities for production of Otaci herbal shampoo and soaps, together with their warehouses, to Bandirma.

Set up on an indoor space of 6500 m2 in a total area of 80 thousands square meters containing annexes, the plant shall continue to manufacture in compliance with WHO and EU rules and ISO standards. Particularly Medical plasters and sticking plaster have been manufactured in the facilities in Bandirma since 1991. Ms. Meltem Kurtsan, Board Chairman of Kurtsan Holding, emphasized that the most essential reasons for their movement to Bandirma include unspoilt local flora is proper for organic agriculture, efficient transportation facilities by sea and fruitful local labor force. She added that production capacity has also increased after this movement because of proper structure of the plant estate. And they are also satisfied to create new employment opportunity in the region.

While additional buildings were built, the treatment plants have also been adapted in accordance with the current conditions. It will also be easier to organically cultivate the crops that may be used as raw material for food around the plant. Organic raw materials to be cultivated around there shall be used for natural cosmetic and food products that the company develops in cooperation with TUBITAK appropriate for EU market.

Target of the organization for near future is to develop products in proper standard for ever-increasing organic market in Europe. Thanks to its expanding export team, the company will also accelerate manufacturing new products in difference lines in demand by EU and Russian market and Middle East market.
